dc.description.abstractv ABSTRACT This research studies relative clauses in English and Arabic comparatively. It aims at determining some essential properties of relative clause structure in both languages. To achieve this aim the study touches the syntactic functions of relative clause structure in both languages. It then focuses on the main a symmetris and symmetries of these constructions in English and Arabic. The study ends with a summary of the main concluding remarks that highlight the main ar eas of difficulties in understanding relative clauses of English , these are expected to lead into committing serious interlingual and intralingual errors.en_US
