Abstract
Abstract
The main aim of this research is to enable university students to
improve their reading comprehension with special emphasis on reading
skills.
This research consists of five chapters. Chapter one is an
introductory chapter. It includes the problem of this -study which is “The
weak standards of university students in reading skills”. It also includes
the significance , the hypotheses and the questions of this study which are
concemed with “why do the students find difficulties in reading skills?
And, how can these difficulties be overcome? And, does effective
teaching contribute in improving of the students’ ability to read
effectively?
~ Chapter two is review of the relevant literature to this study. It
includes information about reading in general and teaching reading skills
in particular.
Chapter three is devoted to the research methodology. It lays out
the techniques that are followed in collecting the required data by using
the tests and the questionnaire instruments.
Chapter four, represents the collected data and gives deep analysis
and full discussion and commentaries of this data. It provides tables and
graphs to present the results of the responses and answers of the students.
Finally, comes chapter five to conclude this study. It lists the
findings of the study and points out some recommendations to be taken
into account in future similar studies. This chapter is followed by the list
of references that the researcher has consulted and appendices.
