Title: Arabic Ethical Sources (monographs): Bibliometrics study

This study aims to accomplishing the main goal, which gives a clear
picture about the bibliometric situation of the arabic ethical sources, by
giving statistical data, upon different variables, such as: subject, form,
place of publication, date of publication, tradition & contemporary,
publishing institutions.
The problem of the study represents in a rarely number of Arabic
bibliometric studies in some subjects. In addition, the Arabic ethical
sources have no any bibliometric study. So this study probably has the
precedence, as the first study which gives information about Its
bibliometric variables.
Because there is no bibliographic list of Arabic ethical sources
available, the researcher prepared a list contains: (5808) of ethical
monographs materials, “which has been collected from available print
and non-print sources.
In order to carry out this study, the researcher uses bibliometric
study styles, which give quantitative and mathematical analyses that
achieve the study goals. He depends on a computer program which was
developed for the purpose of this study, depending on Microsoft
Access, and Microsoft Excel program, to draw charts and fonns.
The study has obtained a number of results about the arabic ethical
sources. First, On the subject side, the higher is the arabic ethical
sources on sciences & arts with percentage of: (%57.04). Then the
sources of virtues & vices with percentage of : (%37.48)., The lowest is
the general ethical sources with percentage of: (%5.48). Second, OnQ
the source type, the higher is the arabic ethical Books with percentage
of: (%78.89), The translated ethical Books with percentage of: (%6.4O),
The reference ethical Books with percentage of: (%l.3 6), And the
arabic ethical pamphlets: (%l3.34). Third, On the Geographic side, the
study finds out that Egypt & Saudi Arabia published more than: (%64),
then Syria & Lebanon published with more than: (%20), and while the
other countries published less than: (%l6). Fourth, On the time periods,
the study finds out that: (%90) of sources, published in the seconds‘
period of the twentieth century and the preceding years of present
century. Fifih, On the tradition & modern matter, the study finds out
that modern sources percentage are: (%84.13), traditional sources
percentage are: (%8.25), translated sources percentage are: (%6.40),
and traditional developed sources percentage are: (%l.22). On the
publishing matter, the study finds out that: (%86) of sources, published
by commercial stores or houses, and the remaining published by:
educational govemrnental, and social, institutions.
The study recommends a balance publishing of Ethical subjects, and
reform Arabic commercial publishing industry by Issuing suitable
regulations, which guaranty Issuing higher quality sources. The study
recommends also, reforms of the publishing center in the universities,
educational, govemmental institutions, to undertake their publishing
duties. The researcher appeals to publishing institutions to enhance
their efforts on publishing old Ethical manuscripts. He urges
universities educational institutions, to extend the importance of Ethics
& morality by having Ethical curriculums in the universities & schools.
Finally, The researcher suggests continuing working on another higher
studies to cover the remaining Ethical sources subjects, which will
give a clear picture about numbers and variables of Arabic Ethical
sources.
