Abstract

Abstract The National Corporation for Antiquities and Museums (NCAM) has been conducted an archaeological surveys and excavations in the region endangered by Sitite and Atbara Dams in eastern Sudan between 2010 and 2013. Many archaeological sites have been registered dating from the prehistoric period to the Ottman period. Some of these archaeological sites have been chosen for excavation, as well as some cemeteries dated to late periods. The result of the excavation graves were compared with the data of the Gash culture. This suggested an appropriate date of the 2nd and 1st millennium B. C.
