Abstract

Abstract This study handled thewarious natural and human resources in llassahciss province, the possibilities of its development. The choice is based on the fact that tht is an important province in the Gezira State. Thestudy adopted a number of methodologies. The historical approach as use to reach the required information about the initiation of the province an development. The analytic approach was adopted to study the natural phenonrcnz The statistical approach was used to review the data about the population, th tabulation and the review ofthe other data. For data collection, the study adopted, for the collection oi‘ primary data, th personal interview technigne with the important government olilicials. - Likewise, the questionnaire method and_observation were used < ~ The secondary sources were represented by the published and unpublished materials. The study then managed to handle the topic ofthe natural and lnnnan resource and the scope for their development. i The study contained six chapters: Chapter one contained the research strategies. Chapter two contained the theorectical fra|neworka/ml ll‘/tunflwe Mum? Chapter three \(’Z.=1\\'Y94~ the natural and lnunan phenomena Ill the studey area. Chapter l’our cLv\u\g5&‘&Ltlie natural and human_ resources in Hassahcisz Province. l Chapter Five contained the analysis and discussion ofthe field work. ’ Chapter six contained the summary of the r'esear"cl1:'lllle most important result> and reconnnendations. - llassaheissa Province, in its natural set —up, has good natural and human rcsourccs. These resources may achieve the objectives ol‘ development in the Province. Yet, this needs a rational and wise management. 'l'he study reached several findings, of which are the t‘ollo\-vinga The existence oi‘ a large area ol‘ the Gezira Scheme in the Province. This had led to the great tree —telling for cultivation purposes. SO, forests and grass disappeared. i There is negligence in the Province by the farmer, in entering into partnership, with another, then leaves this latter one to do whatever he like with his farm. ' ln the field ol'\vater resources there some deficiency W ' the Water Supply Corporation and Water cuts for long periods, because of non payment ofeharges. This lrom a heavy burden on the citizen. Q As for animal wealth, despite its plenty, it lacks veterinary care, which leads to the death ofsome ofthe animals. As For the soil, the clay soil is good for cultivation, despite the cracks it causes to the residential areas and to houses etc. I The. researcher set some recommendations:"- ln the lield of agriculture; it is recommended that natural fertilizers, such as- the local ‘Manmkqwvliielt is the remains of animals and left-outs), be added to chemicals fertilizers, for the land for the increase of its productivity. Care l’0r the lish wealth by setting the rules and regulations for same. ln the lield of education teachers should be trained and cared for. Likewise, the school text~books and co|nfo1"tal)lc seats must be provided. Its recommended that water and electricity services be provided from Abu- goota locality, because, in particular, ' V . suffer from these problems.
