dc.description.abstractABSTRACT This study investigates the difficulties that face secondary students in writing through examining the students' ability in English writing compared with their performance in Arabic. The thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter One is an Introductory Chapter, it contains the statement of the problem, research questions, research hypothesis, significance of the study, objectives of the study, limitation of the study, and methodology of the research,. Chapter Two introduces the Literature review, focusing on paragraph writing, sentences, controlled writing approach, and current- rhetorical approach. The process approach, the product approach, English for academic purpose, its relation with the other skills, definitions of writing, importance of writing skills, this chapter shows types of writing, using punctuation marks, quality of good writing, teaching writing and the reason for writing. Chapter Three is devoted to shed light on the practical part of the study as population of the research, the sample of the research ,tools of the study, design the questionnaire for both the teachers and students and the classroom performance. Chapter Four presents data analysis and findings. The last Chapter shows the V researcher's recommendations, conclusion, and further suggestionsen_US
