Abstract

Abstract Title of Thesis: The role of Trade Bibliography in Marketing The Publications of Khartoum University Press Analytical Study Prepared by Student: Moaiz Elias Abbas Mohammed. Supervisor: Dr. Abbas Alshazali Awad Alkareem. University: EL Neelain University. Faculty: Art Department: Libraries and information. Academic Degree: Master Year: Z006 The main objective of this study is to project the role, which could be played by the publications, or distribution lists, in the development of the sales of Khartoum University Press. ln addition, there is the analysis of the _quantity of the information provided in them, together with proposing solutions for the constraints encountered. The study aims at the discovery of the impact of the deficiency in the statements of the bibliographical description in the publications list, on the development of sales and the need for planning to establish a section or unit for the preparation of the Trade Bibliography at the Khartoum University Press. The approaches adopted in this study, are the historical documentary approach and the analytic statistical approach. The methods of data collection was obsen/ation and personal interview. ‘Hie studfy is composed qf four cliapters: - Chapter One contained the general framework of the study. Chapter Two contained the theoretical framework (bibliography). lt handled the general concept, initiation and the concerned institutions of bibliography, the types of bibliographies and bibliographies and Modern technology. Chapter Three handled the publication industry and electronic pubflcafion Chapter Four contained the analytical study of the publications lists which were published by the Khartoum University Press. t/is most important resufts qftfie study, are tfiefolT0wing.‘— prepared a number of recommendations, the most important of The bibliographical description of the publications or distribution lists is not complete. There is an absence of the objective plans, which are directed towards the publication orientation. ln accordance with these findings, the researcher had which are the following: - Publishers shall adhere to the complete and model bibliographical description rules, for publications by lists. There is a need for establishing a section, or unit, for bibliography in the Khartoum University Press, the purpose is to control the Sudanese intellectual production, on one side, and preparing the publications list on the other.
