Abstract

Abstract The research is about the factors that affect the economics of medicine industry in Sudan competitiveness. It also touches the value of the hard currency on its world competition. The reach research aims at studying the factors that affect the quantity produced like the working power, the current prices and the exchange value of the dollar. The research likes to know about the current prices, the working capacity and the exchange value of the dollar with relation to the quantity of medicine produced in WAFRA PHARl\/[A LABORATORIES between 1995 to 2004. He used (OLS) to analyze the logs. The researcher also examined the hypothecs that the working power and the current prices affect the quantity of the medicine produced. Also the positive effects on the drugs manufacturing in Sudan. What comes out shows that the working capacity and a good policy for prices of drugs have a positive effect on the quantity produced. It also shows that shows that exchange value of the dollar has a negative effect on the quantity of drugs produced. This is because most of the raw materials are importing. So the result is high prices for locally produced drugs and low profits. The study recommends that importing drugs should be reduced to protect the local drugs industry. Also local industry must be supported for the sake of low prices. The study also gives a recommendation of using local weeds and materials in drugs manufacturing. In addition to that required experiend and inputs for industry are needed to promote work. To get the optimum conditions when going the international trade agreement. Foreign currency must be controlled.
