This study investigates some effect variables on
psychological adjustment of students with the special needs at the
private and government Universities in Khartoum state .
However , the descriptive method has been used, Hume
Bell adjustment scale having four dimensions and psychological
dimension has been adopted simply because it was,
recommended by the panel of referees .
A computer has been used in various stages of statistical
analysis by adopting SPSS (Statically Package for Social
Science) in order to arrive at validity and consistency of the
adjustment scale.
The study has included (409) female an male students with
special needs at the various government and private universities
within Khartoum state and the male student is about (233) which
represents (57% ) while the female students is about (176)
representing (43%) which are drawn from 2"‘! , Sid and 4*“ year
classes.
The most important findings are : i
1/ The psychological adjustment among students with special
need at the universities within Khartoum state is viewed as _
positive .
2/ There is no statistically significant difference in students with
special needs in the universities within Khartoum state due to
gender (Male or female) .
3/ There is significant difference in adjustment scale for student
with special needs at the universities in Khartoum state which can
be attributed to the type of disability (ie inherited since childhood)
4/ There is statistical significant difference in psychological
adjustment scale among students with special needs at the
universities in Khartoum state that can be attributed to a
university . '
5/ There is no statistically significant difference in the adjustment
scale for students with special needs at the universities in
Khartoum state that can be attributed to the place of residence
(states or the capital city). '
6/ There is no statistically significant difference concerning
psychological adjustment among students with special needs in
both governmental and private universities .
In conclusion, the study has presented important results,
recommendations and proposals. In addition to reference and
