ABSTRACT Dissertation Title: Library and Information Science and its Relationship with the Communication Sciences. Prepared by: Amina Mohamed El Hassan Saliem Morad. Supervised: Dr. Abbas El Shazaly Awad El- Kariem. Degree: Master degree. Faculty: Arts. Department: Archives and Libraries. Pages:151 Year: 2005 This study deals with the Library and Information Science and the Communication science aiming to specify the relationship between them. The introduction includes the study goals, problems, questions, importance, hypotheses and the research methods. The field of the study focuses on the central library in Sudan University of science and Technology (SUST). Chapter one discusses the history of the library and information science, and its development besides its relationship with other subjects. , Chapter two concentrates on Communications science its history, development, equipments and its relationship with other subjects. Chapter three includes the field study where the researcher introduces it with the history of (SUST). It deals with the librarians and some libraries of importance are not included in the "library Guide" of (SUST). The field study takes abut 40% of the librarians with deferent ages, qualifications job description, and experience. The researcher uses the percentage and "Pearson" equation for arithmetic stability, which give a very high value, 0.98. Chapter four includes the representation, analysis and the result of the study. The study reveals results that confirm the hypnosis's which lead to some recommendations for the (SUST) and general recommendation. To conclude the research the study is followed by appendixes related to the theme of the study and annexed by some diagrams, statistics, author index.
