Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between central comeal thickness (CCT),
comeal curvature (CC) and intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement in normal
subjects, and also to evaluate the effect of age on central comeal thickness , comeal
curvature and inraocular pressure.
A total of 100 subjects (100 eyes) were included in this study, and they were divided
into two groups (Group A and Group B) according to their age. Males/females
distribution was 42 and 58 respectively. The range of age is fi'om 18 to 35.
Clinical investigations were refraction (by autoref-keratometer), central comeal
thickness (by OCT), comeal curvature (by autoref-keratometer) and intraocular
pressure (by air-pufftonometer) .
The results showed positive correlation between CCT and IOP, with p-value< 0.001,
which indicate the effect of CCT on IOP measurements. Also the results showed no
correlation between CC and IOP, with p-value 0.06 and 0.09 for group A a.nd B
respectively, and this indicate there is no effect of CC on IOP. The results also
showed that the CCT, CC and IOP are independent of age with p-value 0.095, 0.212
and 0.153 respectively. The age has no effect on them.
