Title: Man-Power in Information Sector and its Role in
building Information Society in Khartoum State.

The study focused on the active man-power in building
information society in The case of Khartoum state.
To achieve the objectives of the study, a number of research
methods were used, namely: the historical, and documentary
methods to collect data about information society and man-power
in Khartoum State. The survey and case study methods were also,
used as descriptive analytical methods to make the proposed
framework for the solving the problems related to the studied
topic.
The National Infonnation Center, the National Corporation of
Communication and the Ministry of Science and Technology were
chosen the represent the intended samples for the case study.
The relevant literature and previous studies were review. Was
used the result questionnaire which had been prepared by the national
information center and Juhaina Company for Services.
The collected data were analyzed to assess the electronic
readiness in the Sudan and to reach the required results and
recommendations. The study consists an introduction, three chapters
and a conclusion.
Chapter One: is about general concepts of information and
national information policy and plans. It also covered the information
economics, the characteristics of economics and man-power in
information sector, information requirements and classification.
Chapter Two: focused on general concepts of the information
society and its measurements and some of information sectors
experiments in developed and developing countries.
Chapter Three: covered the information building in Sudan. It
also discussed the information states in Khartoum State, and studies
in depth the efforts of some of the institutions and their roe in
information building.
The study reached a number of results the most important of
them are:
l. Information sector in one of the most important factors of
sustainable development, particularly in developing countries.
2. Man-power in information society depends on continuous
education and professional development.
3. The Electronic government is facing a number of problems such
as the monopoly of high cost services in of the internet.
Lack of legislation and information security, although the national
information center has an advisory council.
The Study recommendations are:
1. The government should have an efficient plan to reflect the
importance of information as a national recourse.
2. Annual budget should be made for the information sector to
obtain develop and information technology.
3. Technical and specialized man-power should be should be
studied to make national plan to spread computer letters.
4. Computer literacy should be one of the requirements for
recruitment in public service.
5. Information and communication technology should be included
in educational system.
