Abstract

ABSTRACT 1 . This study aims at highlighting the importance and the good military management of individuals and its impact on the efficiency and productivity in the armed forces. Then it discussed their historical development from the ancient times and ending with their future prospects. The study also dealt with the role of the armed forces in the national development plans through their contributions in the following: A . Training technicians to meet the needs of the armed forces and the local and regional labour market. B. Participating actively in the infra-structure projects. C . Preservation and beautificion of enviromnent. D . provision of medical services to more than 80% of the Jordanians. E . Contributing to dealing with disasters. F . Participating in the housing projects. G . Sustaining and enhancing the national unity. 2 . In the practical and applied field of the study, the researcher concentrated on the basic elements in the process of leadership and military management covering the leader, the group, the followers and the situations. The research dwelt on the various methods of leadership whether dictatorial, democratic, autocratic or non-intererence. 3 . A questionnaire was conducted covering the Miltary College and directors of general leadership to identify the relation between the leadership and the management. The research concluded that there is no ideal or permanent pattern. It also showed that the less educated the leaders are, the more dictatorial they tend to be. 4 . The researcher also tackled the issue of incentives and their effect on the efficiency and performance of the individuals. 5 . The study consists of six chapters: A. Introduction, importance of the study, hypothsis. B. The concept of the leadership and military management. C . The elements and characteristics of a successful organization methods and fields of leadership. D . The historical development of leadership and military management. E. The effect of the leadership and miltary management on the efficiency and productivity. F . Conclusions, recommendations and inferences.
