Abstract

ABSTRACT The present dissertation discusses, at length, the role of security media and its relative contributions towards the development of security mission. The presentation illuminates various dimensions such as social, cultural and economic. Naif Arab Academy for Securiiy Sciences paid special attention to the security media, and research programs. This concem is reflected in its multivarious programs, methodologies and researches. Some experts, however, regard the Academy’s efforts both insufficient and unsatisfactory. The present study will strive to explore the underlying reasons for this gap. Research Questions: The present study will address the following questions: To what extent does the Arab security media exercise its impact on social development? To what extent has Naif Arab Academy for Security Sciences made contributions on issues related to security media? What are the reasons that explain the deficiencies in the security media? llow can such deficiencies be removed? Research Objective: The present dissertation has sought to achieve the following objectives: It emphasises the role of the security media in handling social development problems as they fall within three realms - human development, security awareness and crime prevention. Also, it seeks to offer findings and recommendations that should serve as useful guidelines for ideal concepts.~- It highlights the distinctive and pertinent contributions rendered by Naif Arab Academy for Security Sciences. Also, it will present an objective evaluation of such contributions. lt proposes some plans that are conducive to the development of security media. It purports to enhance the literature on studies related to security media.
