Abstract

Abstract This study primarly aimed at conducting a survey of the prophetic eulogy, through the investigating of the poetry of Ahmed Wad Saad , and the nepresenting of his life and works . The study consisted of introduction and three Chapters which contain anumber of Sections. In the introduction, the researcher disccussed the phenomenon of the prophetic eulogies in the Sudanese literature , and explained its characteristics also mentioned its famous poets , explained its difference from sofist literature , its role in spreading of the relgious awareness , Arabic language and the Strifing against injustice _ The first chapter consisted of two sections which studied the environment of the poet , explaining the political and social life , in addition to the scientific movement during that period representing his name , people , education , believe in Mahdia , conduct in it and his literary activity _ The second chapter which included two Sections was specified for the purposes and components , the first section aimed at Studying the theme of the prophetic eulogy in Ahmed Saad”s poetry and tracing its meanings , for the eulogies included several meanings and themes such as ; preaching , instructions for devine guidance , praising to the prophet companions , longing and yearning to visit Hij az and praising to prophet Mohammed ( PBUH) by abstract and concrete virtues , showing the Mohammed an's light and his preference to the prophets , etc the second section was specfied for the purposes of saad's poetry during the Mahdia period ; it is a poetry that similar in its form and structure to the prophetic eulogy , but it was in the praise of Al-Mahdi and his successors and suppoıters , the description of his fighting , his instigation of them for jihad , also it was written in the lamenting of Al-Mahdi and the Mahdia state The third chapter explained the technical characteristics and the critics , views , for that the study stopped at the forms in which the poet compose his verses , its metres and rhymes , the structure of the elocidating picture , the ' appearance of the rhetoric in his poetry , in addition to soıne technical phenomena , such as ; the tendency to fictitious I ' " narration , the language in which he composed his poetry ' the sources that supported it, the role of criticism in improving the poetic performance and the critics , views _ The study concluded by recommendations and l bibliography
