Abstract

Abstract Background: cardiac catheterization is the current standard of care for many patients suffering from ischemice ,valvular and congenital heart disease . The study aimed to assess performance of nurses regarding post cardiac catheterization care among nurses working in cardiac catheterization units Methods: A descriptive cross sectional hospital based study it involved total coverage sample (40)professional nurses .was selected out of three cardiac centers those nurses working in the catheterization units questionnaire and check list was done and data was analyized by (spss)vertion (20 ( Result: the study revealed that all nurses have fair practices (71.2%) and fair knowledge (68.4%).regarding post cardiac catheterization nursing care . The majority of nurse had a fair knowledge regarding complications post cardiac catheterization (52.5%)and (75%)of nurses had good knowledge regarding nursing responding if complications occurs but (47%)had poor knowledge regarding vascular complications post cardiac catheterization) there was highly significant association between nurses knowledge regarding nursing care of cardiac catheterization and their practices. P.Value = 0.000. The study concludes that all Nurses have fair knowledge and have a good practice regarding post cardiac catheterization care .
