Emily Dickinson’s Poetry from an Ecofeminist Perspective

Abstract

Abstract This research studies the poetry of the American poet Emily Dickinson that deals with nature from an Ecological perspective. The selected poems have great connection to the themes and issues which the researcher has discussed. The study is divided into five chapters including the introduction and conclusion. The researcher has applied two new literary schools. They are Ecocriticism and Ecofeminism, supported by Transcendentalism since it has great relationship with the two literary schools. Besides, Emily Dickinson is considered one of the American Transcendentalism pioneers. The researcher has applied also in this study the Analytical Qualitative Method. This research recommends taking advantage of nature’s fascination to protect the environment since that can enhance the recent global efforts to support the attempts of the activists in the environmental field to save our planet the Earth from the destruction that has taken place. مُستَخلص البَحث يَتَنَاول هذا البَحث القصائدَ التي تَتَحدثُ عن الطَبيعةِ في أشعَارِ الشَّاعرةِ الأَمريكيةِ إميلي ديكنسون من منظورٍ إكولوجيٍّ (بيئي أحيائي) و قد نَتَجَ إختيَار هذه القصَائد من حقيقةِ أنَّها ذاتَ علاقةٍ وثيقةٍ بالأغرَاضِ و الموَاضيع التي يُناقشها البَحث. هذا و قد قُسِمَ البحثُ إلى خمسةَ أبوابٍ بما في ذلك المُقدمة و الخُلاصة. إتبع البَاحثُ في هذا البَحث نهج مَدرستين نَقديتن جَديدتين، و هُمَا: المدرسة الإيكُولوجِية (البيئية الأحيائية) و المَدرسة الإيكُولوجِية النِسوية، مَدعُومتين بمَنهَجِ الفلسفةِ المتسامية، و ذلك لأنَّها ذات صِلةٍ واضِحةٍ بالمَدرستين الأدَبيتن المَذكورتين آنفاً، فيما يخصُ كتابات الطَبيعة. إضَافةً إلى أنَّ إميلي ديكنسون تُعدُ من رُوادِ مَنهَج الفلسفةِ المُتَسَامِية. وَ لقد طَبقَ البَاحثُ في هذا البَحث الطَريقةَ التحليلية الوصفيّة. يُوصِي هذا البَحث بإستثمَار الإفتِتَان بالطَبيعة، بمَا أنَّ حُب الطَبيعةِ يُمكنهُ أن يُعززَ و يُحفزَ المَجهُودات العالميّة الحَالية لإنقَاذ كَوكَبنا الأرض من الإنتهَاكَات الإيكُولوجيّة المُمَارسة في العَصرِ الحَديث.
