Abstract Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning is a critical challenge in any wireless broadband (WiBB) network. Long Term Evolution (LTE) being a WiBB network technology aimed at providing adequate network resources for speedy transmission of applications with varying QoS requirements. It uses Radio Resource Management (RRM) techniques such as Call Admission Control (CAC) for resource utilization and to guarantee these QoS requirements. CAC is an RRM technique and directly impacts QoS for individual connection and the overall system efficiency. To achieve this role bit rate must be granted to services that affected by packet latency and packet dropping to satisfy the QoS requirement. The main goal of this research is to evaluate a proposed admission control algorithm in providing QoS. Two algorithms of admission control are compared, admission with priority and without priority that depends on Quality-of-service Class Identifier (QCI) investigates the performance metrics blocking probability, available physical resource block, throughput and delay. MATLAB was used for the evaluation of algorithms. Simulation results show better performance of the priority algorithm real time (RT) traffic compared to the non-priority algorithm. Majority heavy traffic on the internet go toward IP based protocols which have been used suitable transmission media like optical fiber cables; despite of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM), therefor leads to long distance with low interference.en_US
