Analysis and Evaluating the Reading Skill Activities in SPINE (3)

Abstract

Abstract

The aim of the study is to evaluate the role of using the activities in SPINE (3) in teaching the reading skills. The researcher used the descriptive method to collect the data.

The population of the study were English language teachers and pupils in Basic level education, the sample were (30) teachers from Western sector, Kalakla unit. Jebel Awlia locality in Khartoum State and the sample of the pupils were (80) pupils, selected from (8) schools (4) for girls and (4) for boys randomly, (10) pupils from each school were tested, the tools used were questionnaire and test.

The study has illustrated through analysis of the test and questionnaire that: The basic level stage pupils face some difficulties while using reading skills. Basic level teachers have positive attitudes towards using of the reading activities in teaching English language.

The using of the reading activities has significant efficiency in pupils enrich vocabulary achievement, motivate them and enhance their ability in reading.

The study presents some recommendations, the most important ones are:

1- English language teachers should be aware of improving the reading skills activities and their efficient improving pupils' achievements.

2- Literature is one of the most important method that help pupils to develop their reading skill, so it should be provided more.

تهدف هذه الدراسة ،إلى تقويم دور أنشطة القراءة ، في تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية في تعليم مرحلة الأساس واتبعت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي لجمع البيانات وتحليلها .

وتكون مجتمع البحث من مدرسي اللغة الإنجليزية ، وتلاميذ الصف الثامن من مرحلة تعليم الأساس ، أما عينة الدراسة قد شملت (30) معلماً ومعلمةً للغة الإنجليزية ، و (80) تلميذاً وتلميذةً، من عدد (4) مدارس للبنين و(4) مدارس للبنات ، ثم أٌخذ (10) تلاميذ من كل مدرسة، بصورة عشوائية، لإجراء الاختبار بولاية الخرطوم – محلية جبل أولياء – وحدة الكلاكلات القطاع الغربي .

استخدمت الباحثة الاستبيان والاختبار .

أظهرت الدراسة من خلال التحليل النتائج التالية : -

هناك بعض الصعوبات التي تواجه التلاميذ، في تعليم مهارة القراءة بمرحلة تعليم الأساس .

معلمو مرحلة الأساس ،لهم اتجاهات وآراء مساندة ،في تفعيل مناشط القراءة في تعليم اللغة الإنجليزية .

تفعيل مناشط القراءة ، لها دور إيجابي في إثراء الذخيرة اللغوية ، لدى التلاميذ ،ومن ثم تحفيزهم للقراءة الصحيحة ، وتنمية مقدراتهم في القراءة .

قدمتْ الدراسة بعض التوصيات أهمها : -

1- ضرورة تبصير معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية ،بمدارس الأساس، على الاهتمام بمناشط القراءة ،وفاعليتها في زيادة مقدرات التلاميذ ،وتحسنهم في تعليم مهارة القراءة باللغة الإنجليزية .

2- توسيع دائرة الإطلاع لطلاب مرحلة الأساس وذلك بتفعيل مقررات الأدب الأنجليزى للمساعدة في تنمية مهارة القراءة لدى التلاميذ.
