dc.description.abstractThis thesis develops within Discourse Analysis fiamework. It makes a contrastive study between CNN as the American elite satellite news channel, from one hand, and Al-Jazeera and Al-Arabyia as the Arab leading satellite news channels, from the other hand, in political interview as one of TV talk show genres. It explores the impact of the two nations‘ cultural and political backgrounds in this institutional interaction progress. Critical Discourse Analysis and Conversation Analysis are the two appropriate analytical methods used in achieving the thesis analysis progress. Otheiwise, the Gail Jefferson analytical system was the corner stone in analyzing the dialogues transcriptions. Although, there are some differences between the two ethnic groups‘ in the dialogues progress, there are also some similarities found in their dealing with this TV talk show genre.en_US
