تشغيل نظام كوها كنظام موحد بمكتبات الجامعات السودانية

Abstract

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف علي مشروع تشغيل نظام كوها المتكامل مفتوح المصدر بمكتبات الجامعات السودانية، دراسة حالة مكتبات جامعات الخرطوم ، السودان و النيلين . كما يهدف إلى التعريف بالبرمجيات الحرة ومميزاتها خاصة في مجال أنظمة المكتبات المتكاملة مفتوحة المصدرمن خلال التعريف بنظام كوها ومميزاته و متطلبات تشغيله بالمكتبات محل الدراسة. كما تنظر الدراسة في دور تشغيل النظام في تفعيل التعاون بين المكتبات وما يمكن ان يقدمه في سبيل تطوير خدمات المستفيدين . ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة قام الباحث بتوظيف المنهج الوثائقي (التاريخي) للوقوف علي التجارب السابقة للمكتبات محل الدراسة للأنظمة الآلية و المشكلات التي واجهتها . كما استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي (درسة الحالة) للوقوف علي واقع تجربة الجامعات محل الدراسة في تشغيل نظام كوها . و توصلت الدراسة الي عدد من النتائج منها : جاءت مبررات المكتبات محل الدراسة لاعتماد البرمجيات مفتوحة المصدر للميزاتها المتمثلة في حرية الاستخدام و القدرة علي التكيف وانخفاض تكلفة التشغيل و توفر الدعم الفني ، وقد تم اختيار نظام كوها لتشغيله بالمكتبات محل الدراسة لمميزاته المتمثلة في دعم النظام لجميع أنشطة ومهام المكتبة و توافرمعاییرأمن النظام ودعمه لجميع اللغات خاصة اللغة العربية ، إضافة لدعم معايير ضبط و صياغة المحتوي و توافقه مع معاییرشبكات الاتصالات وتوافقه مع معیار Z39.50 ودعم معايير الترميز العمودي (Barcode) وقدمت الدراسة عدداً من التوصيات منها : وضع استخدام البرمجيات الحرة بالمكتبات ضمن الأهداف و الإسترتيجيات الأساسية ، توفير وتطوير تقنيات الربط الشبكي بين المكتبات وتوفير الأجهزة و المعدات للاستفادة من تشغيل النظم المتكاملة مفتوحة المصدر ، وللإستفادة من نظام كوها وتفعيل كافة النظم الفرعية في النظام لا بد من توفر ارادة قوية من الادارات العليا للمكتبات لتحويل كافة الأنشطة و المهام وتقديم الخدمات من خلال نظام كوها .

Abstract This research aims to study the operation of the integrated open source library system (Koha) as a unified system in Sudanese universities libraries, studying the case of the university libraries of Khartoum, Neelain and Sudan. Furthermore, the study aims to introduce the free software and its characteristics, especially in the field of integrated open source library systems, through introducing the Koha system and its features and requirements for operating it in the studied libraries The study also examines the role of operating a unified system in activating cooperation between libraries and what it can offer in order to develop the services of beneficiaries. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the documentation methodology to find out the previous experiences of studied libraries of the automated systems and the problems encountered. The researcher also used the descriptive analytical approach (case study) to find out the reality of the experience of universities that have been studied in the operation of Koha. The main findings of the study are: The justification of the libraries for the adoption of open source software was for its advantages of freedom of use and adaptability and low operating cost and the availability of technical support. Moreover, Koha system has been chosen to operate the libraries for its advantages of supporting the system all the activities and functions of the library and the availability of the system and its support for all languages, especially Arabic. In addition, Koha supports content tuning standards, complies with Z39.50 standards and supports barcode.

The study made a number of recommendations, including: Putting the use of free software in libraries within the basic objectives and strategies. Providing and developing networking technologies between libraries and providing devices and equipment to benefit from integrated open source library system. In order to benefit from the Koha system and activate all subsystems in the system, a strong support is required from the higher departments of libraries to transfer all activities and tasks and provide services through the Koha system.
