Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to define tlle efficacy of behavioural therapy (Thought-Stopping) by using, aversion, afiexible rubber band around patients wrest , following this method , the therapatic efficiency to overcome certaine compulsivy obsession syptoms can be determined , as well to define its associative coorilation with age, educational level, gender , social status, civilization status , and the obsession type . The researcher adopted the experimental method which following the (one ¢- group method) the study meduim compised patients diagnosed by doctors as experiencing compulsive obsession disorder . i Study sample consisted of 35 patients suffering from this disorder ; l8 males and l7 females , whose age ranged from l8 to 57 years . Males average age was 30.6 years and with the standard deviation of 11.1 , while females average age was 32.2 years. With the standard deviation of 4.9 . The following instruments were applied after testifying their validity and consistency I l — Preliminary information questionaire . 2 — Yale Brown scale . 3 - Modsly scale . Numerous statistical analysis manners were adopted,such as T test, the difference between coorelated means, and cl1i-square test to deltermme the significant coorelation. The following findings were reached I l -i The treatment programme applied in the study manifested significant therpatic effeciency in reducing and gradually removing symptoms severity. 2 — The study confiimed that there is no associative coorilation between the programme therapatic efficacy and the samples , age educational level, gender (male or female) or social status . while an abvious coorelation between the programme therapatice efficacy and the obsession type was clearly noticeable .
