Abstract The study aimed to assure the suitability of drinking water at Wadda, Bahar Omdurman and Wad Kuta area in north Darfur state. Water samples were taken from different locations in the above mentioned areas and were physically and chemically analyzed which covered : pH ,turbidity, conductivity and total dissolved solid (TDS) ,color taste odor , temperature ,total suspended solid (TSS ) , which were measured using suitable analytical techniques for each metal, ion and compound such as Chromium(CrVI) Potassium (K+)Aluminum(Al3+),Calcium(Ca2+), phosphate(PO4 3-) Copper(Cu) ,Chloride (Cl-), Nitrite (NO2 -),Nitrate(NO3 -),Ammonia(NH3),Sodium nitrite (NaNO2)Sulphate(SO2) Fluoride(F-),Magnesium( Mg2+),Iron Lower (Fe2+) ,iron high(Fe3+), Total Hardness (TH) Total Alkalinity ( CO3 2-) and (HCO3 -), Manganese (Mn2+) Zinc (Zn) ,were determined by photometer, Arsenic (As) which was determined by Arsenator device. The result was compared with the maximum value Accepted by World Health Organization (WHO) and Sudanese Standard and Metrology Organization (SSMO) applied by Laboratory of Ministry of Health form Alfasher. The results showed that the total dissolved solids (TDS) for the five samples was high do not Conform to the standards.en_US
