Abstract

Abstract This study dealt with the water resources in ELfashir area, it pointed out the physical and human factors that affect these resources including: The water sources in the area such as Golo dam, Shagra pore holes and hand water pumps that wide spreaded in the area, In this study the total amount of water produced from all the above mentioned sources is calculated and the main obstacles facing production is mentioned. Based on the amount of water produced and the actual need of the people the water balance in the area is calculated, the results showed that there is water deficit amounted to 18,000 m3, the actual ind ividual's needs for drinking water consumption and other household needs amounted to 20 cubic liters, which is less than the least amount of water suggested by the world health organization ( WHO). A random sample of household s in the area was chosen , Q uestioned about water consumption and the problems facing the water sources were analyze d , F rom testing the hypothesis, the study attained many results and made some suggestions to solve the problem of water in the area. The study laid in five chapters: Chapter one about the research strategy , Chapt er two dealt with literature review of the s ubject, and third outlined the impact of the physical and human factors on water resources, the fourth about water sources in the area, and fifth about conclusion and recommendations.
