Abstract
Abstract
This research aims at examining the problems and
drawbacks and finding suitable solutions with the purpose of
achieving the objectives of the syllabus, and trying to improve it
in the best way to achieve the goals for which it is designed.
The sample included Teachers of both sexes at White Nile
State, who are teaching this particular syllabus —at key stage 2.
A questionnaire was designed for sixty-three teachers, and it
covered the following: -
Basic information.
Objectives. _
Content.
Teaching aids. r
Teaching methods.
As well as an analysis of the Geographical Component in key
stage 2 of the Basic Schools.
Results reached: - ~
There are clearly specific objectives for the syllabus (Man
and the Universe). ~ ' _ V
‘ The objectives of the syllabus in key stage 2 are in
harmony with the general aims of Geography.
The syllabus for key stage 2 includes very little
geographical elements.
The Geographical Component in key stage 2closely relates
to the problems of local environment.
The teaching methods used are varied and suitable.
Ways of evaluating the Geographical Component are varied and
up to date.
