Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study expresses the reality of educational supervision of physical education
teachers in public intermediate schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The aim of this study is to answer the following questions:
1- What are the functions of educational supervision and the reality of
educational supervision of physical education teachers in public
intermediate schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain?
2- What are the difficulties that limit the effectiveness of educational
supervision in public Intermediate schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain?
The study population consisted of a random sample of physical education
teachers in intermediate schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the academic
year 2010/2011; total of I70 male and female teachers had been chosen to
participate in this research. The researcher has chosen a random sample of male
teachers counted as 40 male teachers which are equal to 50% of the original
community, and 50 female teachers, which are equal to 55.5% from the original
community of female teachers.
The researcher used the survey method which is spread over of six main axes of
the questionnaire. Her main tool to collect data was descriptive method and she
treated the data by the percentage analysis.
After analyzing all the data collected, the researcher reached to the following
main results:
1- Teachers recognized the importance of educational supervision.
2- Educational supervisor will discuss with the teacher about the educational
situation after the classroom visit
3- Educational supervisor does not instruct teachers with the foundations of
building school curriculum.
The study recommended the following:
1- To concentrate on evaluated studies for all supervisory methods.
2- To hold symposia and seminars to train teachers and to improve their
performance.
