The Effect of Glaucoma’s Drug (Dorsoiamide+Timolol) on Tear Film Volume In Sudanese patient

Abstract

Abstract This cross sectional hospital based study is aimed to know the effect of glaucoma’s drug (Dorsolamide+Timolol) on the volume of tear fluid. This study includes 100 subjects; they have been divided in to two groups. Group one: the controlling group; consists of 50 normal subjects and they did not use any type of medication, and group two: includes 50 subjects who were suffering from glaucoma and they use Dorsolamide+Timolol for treatment. The subject’s age range between 40 and 55years old, all of them selected from Maklcah Eye Complex. The results show that most of the subjects have abnonnal tear volume (dryness) in glaucoma’s patient and the percentage of this decreasing about72% ,Dorsolamide+Timolol drug has great effect in decrease in quantity of tear film. Key words: Dorsolam الخلاصه هدفت هذه الدراسة للتعرف على مدى تاثر كمية إفراز الدموع في العين عند المرضى الذي ن يستخدمون علاج الدورزولامايد + التمولول لمعالجة الجلكوما. شملت الدراسة (100) حالة , وتم تقسيم الأشخاص إلي مجموعتين , المجموعة الأولي هم المجموعة الضابطة (50 حالة) ولا أي نوع من العلاج , يستخدمون علاج , والمجموعة الثانية المرضى الذين يعانون من الجلكوما (50 حالة) ويستخدمون علاج الدورزولامايد + التميلول , وتراوحت أعمار المرضى ما بين 40 – 55 سنة , هذه الدراسة أجريت في مستشفي مكة لطب العيون. أظهرت النتائج أن كمية إفراز الدموع للعين لأغلب الحالات تقل عن المستوى الطبيعي عند مرضي الجلكوما وكان معدل هذا التناقص حوالي 78% , وان علاج الجلكوما له أثر كبير في معدل هذا التناقص.
