Abstract

Abstract This research aims at recognizing the rate of anxiety and depression among patients with renal failure. To reach this goal the researcher used the co relational descriptive method. The sample size was 215 patients- 124 males- 91 females who has renal failure, taken by the stratified mode from the specialized hospitals in Khartoum province. The Tylor measure for anxiety and Beck's measure for depression were implemented and the SPSS program was used to analyze data: using t test, Spearman and Pearson tests, and the findings were as follows: The rate of anxiety and depression was found to be low , there were no significant differences in anxiety and depression among patients with renal failure, there were no significant differences between anxiety and depression and academic level, there were no differences in anxiety among the patients with renal failure according to age variable, there were differences in depression among patients with renal failure according to age variable, there was no significant interaction between sex and age on anxiety and depression. The research the reached a number of recommendations , the most important of which are: encouraging and increasing the number of specialists in hospitals and specialized centers, and increasing the establishment of societies of the patients friends in all the country provinces
