Abstract

Abstract of the research Arab charity work is characterized by its historical depth in the Arab Islamic heritage in general and in the Gulf environment in particular. In addition, it exists in the world humanitarian societies and is represented by several evidences in many countries. Charity work has gone through different phases and stages since its very beginning. In each stage, it suited the prevailing conditions in the places where it existed: its case of general awareness for the individuals therein, the amount of freedom and democracy they enjoyed and the form in which the relationship is between its charity institutions and societies on the one hand and the State on the other hand. Sympathy, popular and official support enjoyed by the charity work institutions, as well as the considerable amounts of money provided by donors and volunteers do not overcome the administrative and technical problems encountered by the management of these charity institutions and societies which work for the sake of achieving the aims they announce to the audience of donors and the goals for which they plan to attain, especially that these charity societies direct lots of their activities to the needy and poor societies in the countries which are away from their domicile where they exist. Therefore, treating this shortcoming depends on following new modern methods in managing charity work that handle the method of organizational structure for the charity organization and the method of enhancing organizational values and principles which enable the institution to exploit all its potentials and the capabilities of the personnel working therein as well as the method charity developmental work which increases the vitality of the charity institution in the society where it works.
