Abstract

Abstract Tl’tlS research sheds light on the role of micro-finance institutions in development. The research problem lies in the role played by those institutions in development and in fighting poverty through providing beneficiaries with the necessary funds with the view to development and averting poverty. The research is based on the hypothesis that there is a correlation between micro-finance process and development. i The second hypothesis looks into the correlation between the micro finance process and the approach of poverty fighting. The third hypothesis looks into the guarantees required for completion of the micro-finance process as well as into the big impediments that hinder real beneficiaries‘ from getting funds. The fourth hypothesis looks into the role of training whether for the beneficiaries’ or staffof micro —finance institutions. Objectives of this research include enriching the theoretical aspect of the micro-finance process besides facilitation of the loans process, in addition to spread ofmicro-finance institutions and the dissemination of such culture. The most important outcomes of the research include that the percentage of male beneficiaries’ is bigger than that of their female counterparts. The outcomes also suggest that university graduates are the top recipients of such loans. They also suggest that people with low income represent the largest category of recipients. People with big responsibilities also fall within that category. The research recommends that the sum granted should be increased, in addition to facilitation of the procedures for obtaining loans. The research also recommends that micro finance institutions should be disseminated and the number of beneficiaries‘ should also be increased.
