Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to examining the effectiveness of reinforcement program and response cost in reducing aggressive behavior among mentally retarded children. The researcher used the experimental method, the research sample consisted of (26) respondents divided as (13) for experimental and (13) for control group representing (simple \ moderate) retardation .The research tools comprised: l\Bircks scale for rating behavior 2\Finland,s inventory for adaptive behavior 3\reinforcement Questionnaire 4\ reinforcement program and response cost The present research yielded the following results: l\Mentally retarded were characterized by significantly high scores on aggressive behavior 2\reinforcement program and response cost were effective in reducing of aggressive behavior among mentally retarded. 3\The were significant statistical differences between means of experimental group before and after program application. 4\There were significant statistical differences between mean scores of experimental group and mean scores of control group after program favoured the control. 5\Uo significant statistical differences between mean scores of control group before and after program. These results were interpreted and the research was concluded by a number of recommendations and suggestions for future studies.
