Research Title : Analysis of Refernces Citation as they appear in the theses of Master digrees, deposited in the Library of Khartoum International Arabic Learning Institute for Non - Arabic Speaker (1983-2003). It falls under the Bibliomatrics studies which aim at counting the citations of references as they appear in the footnotes or endnotes of university theses for master degree in Arabic , deposited in Khartoum International Institute for Arabic learning . The number of Theses is ,however , reduced to the study of one hundred sample, of master theses covering a period ranging fiom 1983 to 2003. - The main objectives of the study could be summarized as follows. First :-To identify the most important source of infonnation used by the student researchers in their post Graduate studies in Arabic and also to know the quantitative, qualitative , linguistics, geographical and subject matters of the master theses in Arabic. _tp_assess the frequent distribution of references used in percentage, and with average. and even to know the types of topics that attract the attention of student researchers. to know chronological order _ of distribution of and references cited, and To know the courtries which produce have much of the sources of infonnation used in the theses under investigation. The Theories , relating to the biblomatric studies Q And Lastly to achieve the above mentioned objectives , the present research follows the Analytical methodology in studying the references as cited . However , statistical methods are used to find out the frequent use of references in the text. Questionnaire supporting the thesis to is appended to chapter three and it deals with the library of the institute bringing out its usefulness to the users .The study concludes with a number of findings , of which the following items are basic.: .

First :-studies of the same nature of the researches are few. ~ Second :- scarcity of references for Bibliomatric studies . Third :-methods of bibliographical control are not strictly followed in the citation of references under study. - The study consists of five chapters as follows :- Chapter one :-Research methodologies analogies , including the aims, objectives , Hypotheses and other research components. Chapter two :- the theoretical reference of framework of the study , including the study as a whole , historical background, definition of reference citation and it’s significance. Chapter three :- focuses on the Arabic Institution and it’s organization stiuctures. . ‘ Chapter four :- constitutes the core of the research topic and it contains the content analysis. 4 _ .
