dc.description.abstractGraduate College Screening for Glaucoma in Three Cities By: Marwa Shiekh Musa Omer AlKhateeb B.Sc. on Optometry Supervisor: Dr. Madiha Sid Ahmed PhD in Optometry Abstract The study was aimed to screen for glaucoma in different regions of Sudan (Middle, East and North). Clinical examinations were carried out for 2867 subjects (1236 males and 1631 females),attended University Eye Hospital - Khartoum,Makka Eye Complex — Port Sudan and Hospital Alhadiya - Dong0la.Subject’s age was ranged (1-90) year. 314 patients 11% out of 2867 of the screening subjects have glaucoma. 673% were in Khartoum, 11.1% in Port Sudan and 15.3%in Dongola.Chronic glaucoma was present in 10.4, 0.5% had acute glaucoma and congenital appear in 0.1%.37.9% of glaucomatous subjects were in age group (6l~70),male and female there is no significance (p-value 10.026).
