Abstract
Prior to the September ll, 2001 attacks on the United States, few people were
expecting that the issue of terrorism would be on the top of the international political
agenda, since no country in the world can distance itself from being involved in the issue
of terrorism in any way, as it could be subject to or victim of terrorism or might
sponsor, finance or use it for achieving it's objectives and serving its interests.
Many people dealt with terrorism phenomenon from different perspectives
and various viewpoints, due to the difference of international situations, diversity
of regimes and conflict of interests between political units. Opinions regarding the
concept of terrorism varied and its definitions accounted for more than forty five
defitions, the difference between them was a result of controversy of vision,
perspective and start.
However, what attracted attention was the fact, that in the midst of this
debate the Arab World and Islamic faith were not often victim ofterrorism only,
but the object of accusation by the European countries and the United States of
America. The aim of this was not more than creating a persistent state of
conflic and quarrel act. As result ofthis, the West has intensified its attacks and
started to link "international terrorism" with what it called “lslamic violence".
