Abstract

ABSTRACT This study tries to appreciate the enviromnental effects ofwaste in Khartoum province and aims to recognize the waste according to its kinds , sources, the ways of collecting and transferring it. and if there is a proper building plan because it is related to the processes which treat the waste problems . The study focuses on the problem of the waste and its different effects on the enviromnent and the problems of building plan, collection and transport of the waste. The study depends on the descriptive, analysis, historical and method curriculum . The data of this study has been collected by questionnaire through field work and it included the following areas ( Amarat- Lamab Nasir- Deim Algana and the industrial area in Khartoum ) and (Altaif North — Riad south — Soba Alhila and Soba Alarady in Khartoum Locality) and ( Oshara squires (5-8) -Gabra east — Alsahafa west — and Alsoog Almhaly in Khartoum south locality .The sum total of the sample for the province waste was 156 in the disposal area and making random sample in addition to the field work . The most important results of the stud); - 1-Tlle weather and the soil of Khartoum requre special treatment with the waste (collection, transport, time and the way of disposal), 2- The sources of the solid waste in the province are the houses, agricultural, industrial, commercial activities and hospitals. 3- The waste in the province can be classified as organic, metal, materials, papers, plastic, bags, glass. cartoon , cloths and subside materials. 4- There is an exceptional program for cleaning the province called the Aid Program me for improving the environment in Khartoum province. This programer aims to collect, transport and dispose the waste . 5- This program suffers from several problems such as financial problems and its labors are temporary and have been sent from the governmental establishments. 6- This program also has several disadvantages and sometimes its work is not scientific. 7-The waste causes several problems in the province.

8- The resident of the province needs environmental awareness and they don’t know how to deal with the waste properly. 9 - Khartoum province is large and there is no suitable building plan and it needs the basis of dealing with the waste. The study recommended that it is important to reduce the waste which is produced by industries and s0lve all the problems which face the Aid program for improving the environment and there must be a different environmental awareness and prove the behavior that lead to make the province clean and use the Islamic education’s and the program must revise its way in dealing with the waste and us sceientific basis. The way of Sanitary Land till and changing to compost which is suitable for the circumstances ol‘ the province , is away of getting rid of the waste . there must be a team of scieritists and researchers for providing the information and statistics specially in supporting the way of changing to compost by suitable data.
