Abstract

Abstract The title of the search the psychological and social adjustment and academic achievement amongst the hearing impairment at the basic school level in Khartoum state, the research aim at the study of the psychological, social and academic achievement among the hearing impairment, at the basic school For achieving the objectives of the search., the search used the descriptive-associative method. For the collection of the data, she used the psychological .adjustment scale for the hearing impairment resistance, after the extraction the validity and reliability factor .An intentional sample of the hearing impairment at, AL-Amal institution three for teaching deaf ,at Omdurman ,and AL-Amal institution seven, at Bahry and the Salamabi institute for hearing and addressing, at Khartoum was chosen for the study. The sample amounted to(l20) pupils (male and female) for the analysis of the data, the researcher used the statistical packages for social science (SPSS) program the findings of the research exposed that ,The psychological and social adjustment ,is high amongst the hearing impairment. There were significant statistical differences in the psychological and social adjustment, amongst the hearing impairment pupils, according to the age dimension of ‘12-l9,20snd above. There are significant statistical differences, in the dimension of the psychological and social adjustment of the hearing impaired according to sex, There are significant statistical differences, in the personal and social dimensions, while there are differences in the bodily and family dimension according to the method of communication. The result, also showed that there is progressive associative significant relationship, between the personal and bodily dimension according to the academic achievement. The research concluded with recommendations ,the most important of which are there is need to work for raising the level of awareness and the methods of protection from it the provision of the primary heal for prevention it danger and the researcher also, prevented proposals for further studies on the topic ,especially amongst the psychological and social adjustment, amongst and academic, communities in which this hearing impaired.
