dc.description.abstract | Abstract This research aimed to investigate the relationship between the attitudes of Elimam Elmahdi Students towards their University and social, emotional adjustment and academic achievement. To fulfill this aim, the researcher used the descriptive (correlational method). Data collection devices were: scale for measuring attitudes designed by the researcher consisted of (22) items and adjustment scale designed by H.M. Bell. The sample size was (224) students (both males and Females) selected by using random sampling technique representing certain class levels: middle and final (second and fourth) from Arts, Health collage, and faculty of medicine. The collected data were analyzed by using some statistical tests such as: T-test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The present study communicated the following result: I. attitudes of students towards University were positive. 2. There was no difference in the attitudes attributed to gender (male- female) and specialization (Arts-Sciences). 3. No relationship was found between the attitudes towards University and emotional adjustment. . 4. No correlation was found between social adjustment and academic achievement. 5. No correlation was found between emotional adjustment and academic achievement. 6. No correlation was found between the attitudes towards University and social adjustment. 7. There was differences in the attitudes of students towards University attributed to class level. At the end of this research, some recommendations and suggestions were stated. The most important recommendations were: l. University should be well — established in terms of buildings extra curricular activities (sport, cultural) and to link the student with both administration and staff. 2. To enhance the relationship between social adjustment and academic achievement among students, it is essential to appoint social worker. | en_US |
