Nurses performance regarding emergency management of patient with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding in Ibn sinaa Hospital 2017

Abstract

Abstract: Introduction: upper gastrointestinal bleeding is critical health status which requires standardized care policies as well it needs qualified and skilled health provider to obtain good outcome of management. Aim of the study: To assess knowledge and practice of nurses regarding the initial care of patient with upper gastrointestinal bleeding Research Methodology: This is cross sectional hospital based – study conducted in hospital in Khartoum state ( Ibnsinaa Hospital ) in period from july to September 2017 at Mohammed Salih Idress center and it include 30 nurses , the assessment was performed by using questionnaire for knowledge and check list of practice assessment ,the data presented in form figures and tables Results of the study: the majority of participants are females were (76%) and most of them had experience less than one year, The majority participants had good knowledge regards causes and clinical feature of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (70-97%) ,but have poor knowledge regarding method of management (medical and the endoscopy) and have poor practice of procedure . Conclusion: The majority of respondents had good knowledge, and has poor practice of procedure. Recommendation: improvement of nurse practice by regular training courses especially in emergency department, further studies are needed to elaborate the effect of different variables on the knowledge and practice

مقدمة:النزيف المعدي المعوي لجهاز الهضمي العلوي يعتبر حاله مرضية حرجه تتطلب عناية طبية فائقة كما تحتاج لمقدم خدمة مؤهل للحصول على نتائج ايجابية .

اهداف الدراسه : تهدف الدراسة الى تقييم معرفة وممارسة الممرضين فيما يخص الرعاية التمريضية لمرضى النزيف المعدي المعوي العلوي الحاد منهجية الدراسه: هذه دراسة وصفية سريرية تم اجراؤها بمركز محمد صالح ادريس في مستشفى ابن سيناء بولاية الخرطوم حيث شملت الدراسة 30 ممارس حيث كانوا متواجدين في الفترة ما بين شهر يوليو-سمبتمبر من العام 2017 وقد تم استخدام استبيان معد لقياس المعرفة كما تم تقييم التطبيق العملي باستخدام استمارة ملاحظة , اما البيانات مقدمة في شكل ارقام وجداول . نتائج الدراسه: معظم المشاركون في الدراسه من الاناث (76%) ,اكثر سنوات الخبرة اقل من سنة درجة المعرفة لديهم جيدة فيما يخص الاسباب والملامح السريريه تتراوح بين (79-70% ومتدنية فيما يخص طرق المعالجه عن طريق الادويه والمناظير , فيما كان الجانب العملي ضعيف. الخلاصة: الاغلبية من المشاركون في الدراسه لديهم معرفة جيدة بالنزيف المعوي الحاد ولكن لديهم ضعف فيما يخص الجانب العملي. التوصيات:تحسين الجانب العملي بزيادة عدد الدورات التدريبية للممرضين وخاصة في وحدات الطواري , مزيد من الدراسات لوضع تاثيرات مختلفة علي المعرفة وممارسة مهنة التمريض.
