Abstract

An Abstract - This is a study on the subject of ( The problem of the south of Sudan , past , present and the future . Apolitical geography research ) . The importance of such study arrises from the importance of the target area with its various resources as well as being the upper Nile sources . It has assumed the possibility of erasing the effects of the civil war and achieving stability and real development in the south . The variety of cultures and races in Sudan threatens it with similar break up of wars in many other regions . Therefore , realizing and studying rooted factors can help to avoid its repetition . The importance of the south , being so rich in its natural resources in addition to its strategical , makes the region able to participate effectively in establishing a brighter future for the Sudan wherever development chances are available . To prove these assumptions , the descriptive historical approach has been followed , together with , the statistical to explain and relate datas . Different various tools and procedures have been applied to collect datas , such as , observations , interviews as references and source text books . . Then the information , having been collected , the subject was presented into six chapters as follows 1 \. The south of Sudan , physical Geography. Y. Human elements in the south. \”. The sixth chapter concludes the topic and contains the results of the research , some analyses and recommendations . The most important results , languages , lying under the impact of development backwardness as well as social and cultural of development backwardness as well as social and cultural primitiveness . If the southerners , themselves , do not unite never will peace or development or stability be achieved . As for the recommendations , the most important thing to be done is the connection of all parts of Sudan with a network of transport and roads then the encouragement of social , and intellectual co-ordination and melting through the academic institutes in the southern states . An invitation and calling for a national conference to be held by different views on all issues discussed through the negotiation , particularly Machakos protocol .
