Abstract
Abstract
This study examines the role of public participation in terms
of projects sustainability (case study Tamded project) at Allaut
Gar Alnabi in eastern Darfur.
The study aims at identifying the participation of citizens
and its impact on the advancement and progress of development
sustainability and to identify the achievements and success
provided by the project and the constraints that face the project.
The study discussed the problems that face the citizens after
they offered the projects to be run by public efforts. It is worth
mentioning that these projects were managed by donors
achieved more objectives where as they will have less feedback
when run by public.
The study has used the analytical descriptive methodology
in describing the phenomena and analyzing data which the
researcher has collected through field study that based on
questionnaire, interviews, observation, book and references.
The study has arrived at these findings:
Citizens participation in projects construction is rather weak
because the beneficiaries are not serious of benefiting from
projects founded in the area in terms of work follow-up and
project management. Moreover, local cadres have poor training
and qualification.
The study recommended that :
To qualify and train a good number of beneficiaries to
facilitate the participation process through consulting and raise
their awaress in terms of the essence of participation that lead to
the mobilization of community. Companies should be divided
into voluntary associations that consistent with development
work.
