Abstract

Abstract The energy transition from one dye to another was studied. Three dyes were used: Rhodamine 6G, Coumarin 500 and Nileblue. The absorption spectrum of each dye was obtained using Shimadzu UV-Vis 1240 spectrometer. Every two dyes were mixed together to study their properties, their absorption spectra was observed. The USB 2000 Miniature fiber optics spectrometer was used to study the fluorescence spectra of the dyes and their mixtures. The absorption and emission curves were plotted and their intersection was observed. It was found that when the overlap is large like Rhodamine 6G, Coumarin 500 mixture the energy transferred is bigger. These three mixtures were pumped by nitrogen laser and the energy transfer was studied from one dye (a donor) to another dye (acceptor).
