Abstract

abstract: The researcher examined the management and organization of some special information centers at federal ministries in Khartoum state . The aim of the researcher was to clarify the means of the management and organization of these centers, and their collection and the services they provide, in order to develop them and to suggest modern models of such centers. The researcher used historical, descriptive and comparative research methods, with focus on the case study so as to depict a close —up picture of the problem in the studied situation, and note its positive and negative aspects, which might help Suggesting more effective models. The research has been divided into four chapters .The first chapter is the introduction and the research procedures. The second chapter is about the services of the information center. The third chapter deals with the special information centers at the federal ministries as a sample and presents the analysis of the questionnaire data. The fourth chapter is about the models suggested for the special information centers of the sample (the researcher concluded with a number of results and recommendations .some of the most important results appeared during the negotiation of the management and organization of the special information centers, as a sample of the study, for good use and benefit of their properties. However, the researcher noted a poor organization and lack of wise and fruitful administration of the centers. The results, also, indicate insufficient library collections, poor organization, bad selection, lack of standardization and failure to cope with the use of the Internet. one of the prominent recommendations for specialized information centers, which should a good organizing for groups with ability of effective administration to obtain so much benefits from center and its proprieties .There also must be a good cooperative system between these sample-study centers, with other semi-institutions on all variety levels loeal- regional -international to exchange the training or rehabilitation in fields of information. In the end, he said that there must be a separated budget able to cope with all needs for specialized centers sample — study .S0, more getting material, the more users will be benefit.
