Performance Analysis of Voice over LTE Network

Abstract

ABSTRACT

There are two emerging technologies, the IEEE 802.16 WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) and the 3GPP LTE (Third Generation Partnership Project Long Term Evolution) proposed to meet the requirements of 4G standards and provide mobile voice, video and data services by promoting low cost deployment and service models through Internet friendly architectures and protocols. Both of them are being considered as candidates for the 4G mobile networks. In this thesis, foundations of LTE network and general concept of transmitting voice, analysis and simulate the WiMAX network using the OPNET simulator by design a system with cell radius of 1.3 km and a number of nodes between (49,98) then we change the simulation time from 1 to 10 minutes. To simulate a real WiMAX network work by measuring the voice signal quality by the following quality of service parameters throughput, jitter , delay and MOS. From the results we observed that the throughput and the delay were good because when the number of nodes increase this led to an increase in throughput and and a decrease in delay.

هناك نوعان من التكنولوجيات الناشئة، WiMAX) IEEE 802.16 ) و 3GPP (LTE) الغرض منها تلبية متطلبات ومعاييرالجيل الرابع 4G وتوفير خدمة المكالمات الصوتيه للهاتف المحمول والفيديو وخدمات البيانات . ويجري النظر في كل منهما كمرشحين لشبكات الهاتف المحمول 4G. في هذا المشروع تم دراسة شبكة LTE والمفهوم العام لنقل الصوت وتحليلها ومحاكاتها عن طريق شبكة WiMAX باستخدام برنامج المحاكاة OPNET . تمت محاكاة عمل شبكة عبر تصميم شبكة ذات نصف قطر 1.3 كيلو متر وعدد من الهواتف (49-98) ثم بعد ذلك تم التغيير في زمن المحاكاة من 1-10 دقايق وبعدها تم رصد النتائج، من خلال قياس جودة الصوت وذلك بمعاملات جودة الخدمة التاليه throughput:، delay ، jitter ، .MOS من خلال النتائج التي تحصلنا عليها اتضح لنا ان انتاجية الشبكة و التأخير ذات قيم جيدة لانه كلما زدنا في عدد الهواتف في الشبكة فان الانتاجية تزداد بشكل واضح وينخفض التأخير .
