Abstract

Abstract Addressed in this research the role of tecl1nical education in social development in Sudan, In order to become acquainted with the reality of technical education since its inception through various stages, and then down to him lately. Then to verify the utmost importance in social development, and detect the social role of the outputs of teelmical education and its contribution to the development of society as well as it’s impacts on the well-being of _ individuals. The problem was the deterioration of the conditions of technical colleges such as the shortage of laboratories and workshops, lack of teacher training, the provision of foreign experts (which reflected negatively on the training of students), As well as the rigidity of the curriculum and not being not linked to the needs of the labour market, which led to bring in foreign workers. Society's perception of inferiority to manual work led to the contempt of this type of education. The researcher used the case study, descriptive and analytical methods .In addition to the use of Pearson correlation coefficient. Some interviews, observations, and visits with specialists were conducted to reach a satisfactory outcome to serve the purposes of research. The importance of this research is that it focuses on the deterioration of teelmical colleges ' in terms of laboratories and workshops, and not being well prepared to meet the needs of students as well as the impact of it on the rehabilitation and training of students, reconsideration of the curriculum formulation, and the use of foreign expertise of teachers and trainers so that it confonns with the labor market needs and reflect positively on the perfonnance of the functional roles in the community .It also focuses on community enlightenment and awareness of the importance of technical education for his wealth of positive impact on social development. This research aims to identify the reality of technical education and it’s problems. And finding solutions so that he can actively participate in social development. It also aims to know the importance of teelmical education and the consequent by activating its fully role so that it can contribute to the well-being of individuals and society and social development. Results of the study: ~ lack of laboratories and workshops, as well as the lack of trained and foreign experience led to the deterioration of technical education institutions which reflected negatively on the performance of technical education outcomes. i perception of inferiority for technical education by members of the community resulted in a lack of demand form outstanding students and with higher education levels on this type of education. rigidity of the curriculum and not being linked to the needs of the labor market has led to the escape of students from this type of education. The Researcher reached following recommendations: Use of foreign funding, the elimination of the policy of isolation, and openness with other countries to attract fimding for technical education institutions. To change the perception of inferiority for Technical Education the media must contribute to educate members of the community and infonn them of the Technical Education importance role. Updating curriculum and linking it to the needs of the labour market, as well as providing good training for the outputs of technical education and cadres that contribute to the educational process. g Raise the proportion of technical education (50%). To make the technical education have a positive contribution in the social development, it must be recognized first by the community and then secondly by the state.
