Abstract
ABSTRACT:
The purpose of this research is to apply Geographic Information
Systems to identify the site by ‘selecting the coordinates of x and y to
the scene, and then test the possibility of using this technique to choose
the shortest-path can be civil defense access to the scene as well as
find the nearest hospital or more of the scene by the type and degree of
seriousness of the incident and it is simple or serious, through the
application of controls and standards to be followed in depart the scene
of the accident. and followed this study , descriptive and analytical
approach as well as spatial analysis in order to achieve the best results.
To support and assist the decision—making processes and so out of the
fact that the decision—making in civil defense operations are based on
the information's sensitive to shorten the time factor, which avoids the
loss of many lives and property. ‘
To complete all the requirements of this study was the collection
of data and information by field work and limited to the Levant to build
all the layers used in this model base their engineering including the
basic and geography, to explain how the model, which has contributed
in building a geographic database was represented a lot of data in the
map which are contained in this study. and included a practical part in
the study on the processing of the map and layers, containing data is
selected the scene by selecting the abscissa and ordinate y to the
scene, and after that is determined the scene comes a step access to
the scene and the best path through the system (Network analysis)
where it is determine the choice of how best path after selecting the site
and the location of civil defense. and here we used (Network analysis)
as a tool to analyze. where we start to create a path (query for the
shortest route), New, and then determine the first point (starting point)
(target to be reached) in the new path through the tool create network
location tools, then choose the second point is determined, including the
shortest path between two points in the previous two by Solve icon
shows us the shortest path through which knowledge can be long and‘
all its properties justas we do with any geographical phenomenon.
The location of the incident and the shortest path easier for us to
find your nearest facility ambulatory to the scene by using the Network
analysis, which from the inside to choose ‘new closest facility which
contains Facilities and Incidents We start in select the Facility available
to us, a hospital, for site selection load location and which we choose a
layer hospitals . Appears to us hospitals in a class in the map, then we
define the scene of the incident and then open the screen, the closest
facility property and put-pressure on OK after you choose how many
hospitals we want to choose the incident andthis depends on the type
of incident is it a major accident or a simple type of vehicles and in step
the last treatment and are the closest hospitals are selected for the
scene.
The study showed the efficiency of GlS in data processing using
a variety of functions in the process of spatial analysis. The most
important findings of the study, the important role of technical
developments and their significance in the work of civil defense by
employing technology of digital maps and geographic information
systems, as wellas the need to develop human resources to serve this
route. -
The study concluded a number of proposed solutions and
recommendations that call on the whole to take advantage of geographic
information systems as an integrated system, the application of modern
standards and sophisticated kept pace with the technological
development of the existence of all the aids that help in improving and
raising the efficiency levels of different services, especially the civil
defense sen/ices from them.
