Nurse's Knowledge Regarding Prevention of Pressure Ulcer Among Intensive Care Unit Patients (2015)

Abstract

Abstract Background: According to Nintengel abstract if pressure ulcer found in ICU it must have resulted from bad nursing care. Aim to assess intensive care unit nurse's knowledge regarding prevention of pressure ulcer in ICU patients. Methods and materials: Descriptive crossectional hospital base study was conducted where to evaluate the knowledge of nurse’s staff regarding prevention of bedsore among ICU patients in 12Hospitals. Which carried out from January - march (2016). The study includes all nurses’ with different questionnaire and years of exceperiance working in intensive care unit. Data was collected by researcher himself, through self-administered questionnaire. The data processed and analyzed by computer program SPSS version (19) the data presented by using tables and figures. Results: the nurses are well knowledged regardimg risk of pressure ulcer, prevention, susceptible of pressure ulcer and assessment. But they have poor knowledged of its statement and complications. They need more teaching courses by lecturers. مستخلص الدراسة الدراسة الوصفية أجريت لتقييم معرفة الممرضين و الممرضات لمعرفتهم كيفية الوقاية من القرحة السرسرية للمرضى المنومين في وحدة العناية المكثفة في عدد 12 مستشفى في ولاية الخرطوم في الفترة من شهر يناير إلي مارس 2016. تضمنت الدراسة جميع الممرضين والممرضات الذين يعملون في وحدة العناية المكثفة. تم جمع البيانات عن طريق استبيان تم توزيعه للممرضين والممرضات وتم تحليل البيانات عن طريق استخدام برنامج التحليل الاحصائي و تم عرض النتائج عن طريق الجدول و الرسم البياني. الممرضين على معرفة تامة بخصوص مخاطر القرحة السرسرية، وأعراضها، وتقييمها والوقاية منها. لكن على معرفة قليلة بخصوص المشاكل الناتجة عنها بحيث يحتاجون إلى المزيد من التدريس من محاضرين مؤهلين.
