Abstract

Summerg ‘ Introduction ' Not only is the teacher considered the corner stone of the whole educational process, but he is the real captain who is clinching = its radar while sailing to the safe shores to achieve its basic , targets, as well. 5 So long this theme is right; so long the teacher must be locatedg at the paramount of the whole social hierarchy. . Consequently, he must be having a very respectful ' , consideration in the viewpoints of his contemporaries. 1 The Qteacher success depends basically on a couple of factorsf. Both can be classified as personal and social aspects. A The gersonal (actor: it depends on the way he is organizing, planning and executing his job. The social rank (status) he is occupying.‘ It is frankly to say that any social rank (status) of any human - being is a two edged weapon. Firstly, nobody’s social status is borne with him but it is a ' result of many cumulative experiences being gained during his life time. i Secondly, it is related to the social measures and criteria of the whole society classifying and stratification a specific craft or profession‘,]and where the people who are practicing these 7 careers are located on the social pyramid of self gratificatio lllls€,BKlllll_(lIjl£§QllQ9l Zeaclzezf,So,ciaL§Itatas,,la,_Yemen:- - As a result of many studies and researches, it is ultimately very clear that the social rank of the Yemeni primary school teacher has not» changed during the past five decades. . Although the abovementioned studies were very few, they were mainly concentrating on the educational system both 1 historically and theoretically. ' While some others_"were concentrating basically on the methods of improving the educational system itself.Neither the educational process (which is the sole role played by the teacher) nor the teacher’s social rank (status) were taken into consideration by any of the previous studies. Incarcerating the primary school teacher into a totally dark ignorance, lead the researcher to point out many interrogatives. _..Why is the teacher classified in the lower social ranks (status) in Yemen and why is he always feeling with the negative social , gratification? _H ow could a deprived person who lacks social gratification b able to educate and teach our beloved progeny? _ What sorts of abilities can he introduce to the coming ~ I generations? " It has been said that brain storming is an introductory step to solve any problem and armed with this tool let me highlight 2 the underline study. V Teacher ’s Social Rank (status) in Yemen Again, let me practice this brain storming to rise out these interrogatives:- I _ What is the recent female and male primary school teacher’s ' social status both at the arena of the Imams and at the Republic regime? ' ' _ Where can we classify the teaching profession in comparison p with others? . 1 .__ I/Vhat measures can specify the teacher’s rank both ‘ scientifically and technically and what is the relation-ship between his social rank and his technical performance? _ What are the fundamental roles played by the teacher during the primary school stage? 5 _ What-dimensioins does his social rank have? _ How could be the primary school teacher future image? The Study Objects(Tar2ets1 ' 1-What extent has the teacher’s social rank reached to? 2_ What is the importance of the social rank?
