To know prominent figures who played 1:. role as supervisors for the universities thesis (kind ofstudy). The researcher concentrate on n number of methods, historical. comparative methods, case study, bibliography and Bibliomelerie methods. And a number of tools as follow . Data bases Bibliographic lists , Personal interviews. The researchers divide this study into introduction to proceedural The definitions of the bibliometric studies, the historical development for the

study, the importance of bibliometrics, (aims, kinds. citations analysis, important: bibliometric laws , collage thesis definitions and the role played by them, sorts of thesis and the difference between them, the means bibliographic control to university dissertations, the importance of collecting them, the understanding of scientific productivity, indications, ways of measuring, effective tactors). Focused on the foundation and evaluation of Omdurman Islamic University Faculty ofArts (the aims, location, arts library, foundation and evaluation, the "size of the library with its present location, the features of the literature through statically table and the bibliography and index. Findings and results:- l. Master degrees obtained high degrees sixty one master degrees (62.9%) from the total of the university thesis PhD dissertation (37.1%). 2. The study found that Dr. Farouk Mohamed Ahmed played a vital role as supervisor of a number of PhD dissertations with percentage (6.2%) two supervisors Mohamed Ali. & Abdalrahman nasri co laborite in one dissertation for the student YousifEasa. 3. Disappearance for the number ofthesis from the library. Recommendation: l. The university and various departments of faculty of arts must play an important role and pay much attention to the bibliographic control. . 2. 'l'he libraries of the university need to co operate with each other 2 . so as to“get much benefit ofthesis.
