    Methods of Assessment of Gold Ore from Different Regions of Sudan

    Abstract Different methods were elaborated for the determination of the content of gold in geological samples taken from different areas of Sudan. The determination was investigated by two instrumentations, first the atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) was used employing two different methods shown as (A) and (B), which are differ in the chemicals used and time of preparation. Secondly, X-ray diffraction (XRD) was also used for the determination of the gold content in the samples. The results obtained from the two methods using AAS for gold determination and XRDwere compared.The AAS compared to the XRD in its two methods gives a clear quantitative analysis; in comparison of method (A) and (B), the results obtained, they were comparable, however, there was slight change in some samples. Nevertheless, The XRD method in respect to the gold analysis, it was found be unapplicable for the determination of the gold due to its low content. Results obtained in the range (0-10.5) 4 for the concentration, were comparable with the absorption results ranging in the range (0-0.99) . IX المستخلص طرق مختلفة تم تحديدها لإيجاد محتوى الذهب في العينات الجيولوجية التي اُخذت من مناطق مختلفة من السودان. لتحديد محتوي في تلك العينات تمإستحدام جهازين هما:أولا تم إستخدام جهاز الإمتصاص الذري الطيفي وفي هذا الجهاز تم إستخدام طريقتين مختلفتين كما هو موضح (A) و (B) ، والطريقتين تختلفان في المواد الكيميائية المستخدمة للتحضير وزمن التحضير. ثانيا ، تم استخدام جهاز مقياس الانكسار للأشعة السينيةأيضا لتحديد محتوى الذهب في العينات. وتمت مقارنة النتائج التي تم الحصول عليها من الطريقتين اللتان استخدامت فيها جهاز الامتصاص الذري الطيفي (A ) و(B) من ناحية وكذلك مقارنة النتائج تم الحصول عليها بواسطة جهاز مقياس الانكسار للأشعة السينية مع نتائج جهاز الامتصاص الذري الطيفي. بالنسبة لطريقتي جهاز الإمتصاص الذري الطيفي (ِA) و(B) ، النتائج التي تم الحصول عليها كانت قابلة لتحديد محتوي الذهب في العينات، ومع ذلك كان هناك تغير طفيف في بعض العينات. أما فيما يتعلق بتحليل الذهب بطريقة جهاز مقياس الإنكسار للأشعة السينية، وجد أنها غير قابلة للتطبيق لتحديد محتوي الذهب في العينات. النتائج التي تم الحصول عليها في المدى (0 - 10.50) ملج/متر مكعب للتركيز ، كانت قابلة للمقارنة مع نتائج الإمتصاص التي تتراوح في المدى (0 - 0.99).
