    Abstract This research talks about the impact of training on promoting the performance in the firms. The case of study is Shiekan Insurance & Reinsurance Co. Ltd. The importance of this research lies on the need for training for firms and for individuals as well, as it helps developing knowledge, competencies and skills of the person to achieve his tasks appropriately. The research problem lays on the fact that training lead to promote performance. But, the realization of this depends on the efficiency of the training and the methods used in the process of training, which affect this process. The research hypotheses were that the expansion of training programmes leads to promote performance efficiency in Shiekan Insurance and Reinsurance Co. Ltd., and there is a relationship between the efficiency of training and staff performance. In addition, the internal training does not realize separately this objective. Besides, there is a relationship between the training methods and the training objectives. Finally, there is a relationship between some influencing factors in Shiekan Company and training efficiency. This research aims to show the importance of training to firms, and evaluating the training provided to the staff of Shiekan Insurance & Reinsurance Co. Ltd. The researcher used the historical approach, the case study approach and the descriptive-analytical approach to describe the phenomena. It also used the SPSS program to analyze the data to prove the validity of the hypotheses. The research consists of four chapters: Chapter one is a general framework. Chapter two is the theoretical framework, it consists of four sub-chapters. Chapter three speaks about the emergence of Shiekan Co. Ltd., and consists of three sub-chapters. Chapter four discusses and analyzes the questionnaire and the data. The outcomes and the recommendations of the study consist of two sub-chapters. The most outstanding outcomes of the research are that Shiekan Insurance and Reinsurance Co. Ltd, provides internal and external training to its staff. These training programs help the staff to raise their performance efficiency. The scarcity of training tools affects negatively the training outcomes. In addition, it is found that the external training had a big effect in terms of the efficiency of training provided to the staff, and in terms of the allocated budget. However, the most outstanding recommendations are; developing of training programs provided to the staff at Shiekan Company and using of modern training methods either inside or outside the Sudan. Their emphasis on training programs of a direct impact on the tasks of staff. The training courses at Shiekan Company should be built on a regular basis, besides regular development of staff abilities and skills using special purposive methods.
